Independence Day:
the hunters gather
for archery practice
in the woods.

2.
All her neighbors have gone off on picnics
& the like. Humming quietly, she assembles
her new privacy fence.

3.
Driving home after the rained-out fireworks,
visibility restricted to a short
cone of light on the winding road
& on either side, fireflies
rising from the fields.

    Well put! I hadn’t really analyzed the connections between the three parts, but I think this nails it.

    Leslee, all three were inspired by real life. No channeling was involved – or at least, no more than usual (I had to Google “Sabian Symbols”).
