Follow the sign of the leaf. Climb. Go.

monarch caterpillar

All veins lead to the bright midrib,

witch hazel leaf galls

between the twin nipples,

leaf hand

and over the great divide of the palm.

    I love the genre that you’re evolving here. It’s like a children’s book, each page a big picture and a sentence, but with extra resonance for adults. Please do more of these; I want to see where they go.
