Thanks for the comments. (I hate to think I've been too busy to read/answer comments, but it appears I have. Busy, or at least distracted.) I like that Dick sees Hopper, and marly sees warm and comforting! Maybe those aren't incompatible things. As for missing Smorgasblog, I miss it myslef -- a lot. I love the idea of a sidebar blog, and I liked seeing everyone else's words alongside my own. But it was very time-consuming, and it's time for me to get beyond just being a collector. And as for the house (Natalie's comment), it's really an architectural monstrosity: a small, L-shaped farmhouse with this Southern-style veranda tacked on to it. But the veranda proved its usefulness on Sunday, when the eagle people needed a place to work outdoors with comfortable seating and electricity. And of course it's a great place for family gatherings of all kinds.

Whatever would the world be like if we could all feel pity and affection for one another outside of dreams?

I am very fond of amorphous pink blobs and think that slanty sun and warm wall look peaceful and pleasant...

Send you a new address for forwarding Q-luni.

What Dick said about the photo, and what an amazing house!
Your pics on flickr of the caught eagle are fantastic and moving. It looks so small and innocent, almost cute, among humans and with its wings folded. Whereas up in the sky, it's majestic, powerful and scary.

I think I'll miss Smorgasblog for a bit, but these haiku are so wonderful. I'm delighted with the two you've done of my posts, thanks, Dave.

A great picture, appropriately Hopper in texture. And I'm really enjoying your current haiku fever.
