   Too true.

   Look at Chrysler for instance: its bankruptcy protection is being financed by Philip Levine poems and $8 billion in taxpayer money.

     Was it a Chrysler plant that Levine worked in? I’ve forgotten.

   Oh, I’ve no idea. But just now, one of Rilke’s Orpheus Sonnets and $2 got me a ride on the subway.

    My family were now alone in the cathedral as she sang to us, her lovely singing filling the vast echoey space. Her impromptu performance consisted of devotional songs which she had learnt this year before going on a choir tour in Belgium.
