Ah, Radio Userland, my first blog site, too! I probably left for TypePad around the same time you did, Dick. All my quotation marks and dashes and whatnot in my posts suddenly and irreversibly turned to question marks, unless I wanted to go back and fix them and repost two years' worth of posts. Sigh. I also found it nice to be client-free. But I did learn enough html to fix TypePad posts that occasionally go awry.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your blog history! (And thanks, Dave, for hosting.)

When I review the archives of your blog, Dave's, and so many others - even my own - I am amazed and impressed by the continuous, varied creative flow. We are indeed, as you said, "kindred spirits inhabiting some deep space archipelago, opening up the lines of communication."

Thanks for a terrific distillation of this astonishing medium.

Wonderfully written bio of a poet-blogger, Dick! Your online pre-blog days sound quite adventurous and exciting, followed by six years of blogging - you are one of the pioneers! Congratulations and thanks for sharing. You are an inspiration as my own blog upkeep seems to be flagging.
