They are small, so
slight Almost impossible
to detect unless you’ve

The moment preceded

by just the briefest
flicker as if to normalize
And then someone will ask

like some kind of test

Then shake your hand
winking conspiratorially
at another on the side

All the while unleashing
a slew of sparkly adjectives
