Off to the wild wood

Just so nobody worries about my well-being, I’m going camping in the Adirondacks for a few days (maybe quite a few days if the weather turns nice), and am taking a break from the internet. I’ve temporarily removed the sidebar listing of recent comments, so as not to give the advantage to any spam commenters who might get past the crocodile-filled moat.

Moving Poems will continue to publish next week in my absence, inshallah. And don’t forget to keep up with qarrtsiluni, as well, where my able co-editor Beth will be running the show.

  1. A last long snuffle before winter: sounds perfect.

And thanks for the alert re radio silence. You’ve obviously and correctly identified your readers as high-reactive on the anxiety scale.

  2. (grin) Being very guilty on “high-reactive” scale when Dave is missing, I’m glad to get the pre-alert. Also, it will give me more time on the reflective end to ponder each poem.

It’s not like in school where one could wave one’s hand wildly in the air and query “Mr. Bonta!!!! Mr. Bonta!! I love this whole poem, but I just don’t ‘get’ the talking flowers part.

I have to actually figure each nuance out by myself, or more handily, rely on the comments of others. Sometimes it’s hell being an adult not-a-real poet type.

Have great time, Dave. Hope you can get some pictures along with your inspiration for poems.

  3. Hi all. Spirit has been duly refurbished, many photographic images and a few poem ideas have been gathered, and my quiet interlude is over. But man does it seems weird to be A) online, and B) awake past 10:00!
