It's been years since I've prayed
I am always praying
You see the trueness of a thing
need not be gained at the expense of another
It's been years since I've had a full night's sleep
I think it's a condition called motherhood
Every day I do things as I've always done
Every day I am trying harder to break a habit
I don't know how you all do it
My head or my heart careens
Walloped from one side of the net to the other
I've never been good at keeping score
