Is it true

whatever spills out into the universe

                     is never lost             and will always

return


And is it true

no exhalation or cry 

                      is never a surrender            of nothing


How long does it take

for those ends                        to meet


                      For salt to crystallize            into a fine-

                                       feathered thing
