btw, on the drive to West Newton (another bustling Boston suburb, this time on the commuter rail rather than T) for lunch this afternoon, J and I saw another redtail fly across the road. I’ve seen a redtail perched on a church steeple in West Newton before–perhaps the same bird, or its mate, or a close neighbor–which means I’m gradually becoming acquainted with the hawks of greater Newton. It’s wilder out there than many folks think.
